The dog (and the vulture) are actually traditional symbols of Ares, which was useful, and I couldn't resist giving Jim the vulture, in addition to sharing the dog with Cupid. :)

Great idea for turning things on its head! I liked that Jim caught Cupid's eye by being 'traditional' and holding to the old ways.
