Cousin D. has been here for the weekend and as a late Christmas present she bought me a copy of Goblet of Fire. I just thought I'd mention to people wondering if they should get the special edition (which is wildly overpriced) that there are two tid-bits of note... In the deleted scenes are a full music video with Jarvis Cocker (which completely ( Read more... )

I'm sure *someone* will post the video... I'd do it myself but I have the right software. I'll see if I can manage an mp3 of the song, at least. I just updated the post with a screen cap or two (if you responded more than a few minutes ago you might not have seen them.)

In the movie proper there are a couple of gems... A scene with harry in a supply closet and a study hall scene that was not in the book. But really, they are making a choice to eliminate Snape's story almost entirely. No final scene where we see the mark - Can you say WTF?!?

Daaamn. And Snape's by far one of the best characters. (Not to mention played by an awesome actor.) What do you think will happen to him in the last book?

Last book? Not sure - I'm willing to be surprised. Either he dies a martyr or lives a hero I figure.

Yeah actually I was gonna mention that too...let's see...::counts:: one...two...three...four...um, well he does live in Close My Eyes and Sense and Sensibility...and Closet Land, and Galaxy Quest...Oh, I forgot, five (Rasputin...hope that's not a spoliler for anyone, it IS historical after all)...six...lives in January Man...lives in Bob Roberts...) I think six deaths. But all I know after Mesmer is Galaxy Quest. Oh, he lives in Love Actually too (that movie had far too many pretty men in it, what a pity they had to throw Hugh Grant in too..:O )
So...it's a toss up. But strictly speaking I think his tragic characters have died in the end. I really really hope Snape doesn't though.
