Like I need *another* collection...

I'm really loving movie posters the last couple of years -- It's not something I've traditionally been drawn to, but recent trends have made me want to start plastering my walls with them like a teen-ager. The Harry Potter stuff was *stunning*, and now, I think this set is just as *gorgeous*...

Mmph. I've always thought Jude Law was an okay actor, but he never really appealed to me...until the mustache and the bowler hat. Gah.

I never thought much of him on any level... Until the whole slashy Holmes/Watson thing. I still don't think Law is all that, but Law!Watson rocks my boat.

In any case, there is a beauty and hotness to this poster that I just *love* -- It's an art thing.

Exactly. Law!Watson is just fantastic.

I love the coloring of the posters. They're gorgeous.

I still haven't seen this film, and I don't think I've ever seen Law in anything. Neverthless, my reaction to that poster is along the lines of "I'll be in my bunk".

EXACTLY! The movie is incredibly stylized and it's more the Robert Downey Jr. Show in Vintage Costume than anything, but I really, really loved it. I couldn't argue with anyone who hated it though, it's not for everyone. I am a life-long, old-school Sherlock Holmes fan and I really didn't find anything they bastardized too terribly unforgivable -- For what that's worth, I'm usually pretty easy.

I did see the trailers for the film, and my reaction was "Want!", but I didn't manage to get to the cinema to see it. I did see the online bitching about Holmes is not an action hero, and wondered if these people had read the stories recently, particularly the ones that make it clear that he was a pretty good bare-knuckle boxer...

I finally got hold of the DVD a couple of weeks ago, and should make time to watch it. I had made a previous attempt, and managed to purchase the knock-off with Gareth David-Lloyd as Watson instead, thanks to the deliberately deceptive packaging. The irony here being that I'd actually *wanted* to buy the knock-off anyway, it just wasn't what I was expecting to pull off the shelf that particular day.
