New rule for the Minion Handbook: Minions must prevent me from watching genealogy shows involving shiny, unavailable men I believe I am in love with at all costs

Hands in pockets....tomsisterNovember 25 2006, 00:20:07 UTC
Notice 4th photo down -- he's standing with hands in pockets, thumbs pointed toward p****. He's putting the make on the lady with the gray hair. Ever read 'Body Language'?
Will your family adopt *me*? ;-) My Mom was the least domestic woman on the planet... I can count on one hand the dinners she's made - Christmas was entirely up to me to coordinate.
Hey hey...oh wait, you said least didn't you? Thought you said LAST.....:D I preordered the freerange turkey for this Thanksgiving, how's that for preplanning?
(I don't necessarily think women's place is in the kitchen...I just enjoy my time there...)
You haven't know me long enough to know that I'm an amateur genealogist... Shows like this are like porn for me, not to mention when they revolve around people like DT. ;-) I wish I could get other episodes of this show - I really liked it. I'll have to go see if it's out on DVD...
Mmm... Bill Petersen... I can forgive him the beard.
We have Tom Hanks in our family tree....tomsisterNovember 25 2006, 00:17:36 UTC
I have a distant cousin who does genealogy. We knew of several famous, or 'infamous' family members, but one message included Tom Hanks, through the Nancy Hanks line (mother of Abraham Lincoln) in one of the branches. So we have an Oscar-winning actor and a US President in our family tree. Tom may not be as sexy as some BBC actors (initials JC?) but our ancestors were a prolific bunch.
Oh wow! That painting is amazing. I see what you mean about the fanfic possibilities! So is the beard - he gets bonus points for that. ;) It actually makes him look almost old enough to fancy. (Yes, he's older than I am, but still too youngish for my taste. But the beard's nice.)
They didn't say anything about the painting in the show but you have to wonder if they picked it because of that? Kind of creepy.
Yes, he's older than I am...
Really? I didn't realize you were so much younger than me...? DT is my brother's age (2.5 years younger than me) which is a bit squicky, frankly. Between that and the beard... Why do I like this guy again?

The little tea party laid out by his parents is exactly the kind of thing my family does, as well. *G*

According to IMDB, DT was born in April 1971. I was born in November 1971. Okay, so it's only seven months, but he's still older. ;)
