IP address? Anything like the Gettysburg address?
Cause if that's the case I can start jumping to even better conclusions. But then you'd have to excuse me... it's one of those 4AM things. :)

how do you connect to the internet? cause a few things could be causeing the ip problem.

Basically it's an ethernet cable connected to my computer from my cable outlet (there's a splitter connecting my TV and my computer to the outlet). It's not wireless.

do you know if the cable goes thru a router anywhere? and if yes, would anyone else be connecting to the same router?
