“Oh my god!” Exclaimed Izzie from behind her laptop.
“What are you so excited about?” Meredith asked as she pulled her head of the fridge, frowning as she smelt the sour milk in her hand. “Ew, that is so off, we need to go shopping.”
“We? It’s your turn.” The blonde replied.
“Yeah, so anyway, what’s got you shrieking like a fourteen year old girl?”
“You will never guess who’s on Facebook.”
Meredith raised her eyes to the ceiling, one hand on hip, seemingly deep in thought, “Nope,” she looked at Izzie, “you’re right, I will never guess.”
“Oh go on.” Izzie pleaded.
“Seriously, Iz? There’s like a gazillion people on that bookface thing.” She moved to sit on the stool opposite the blonde.
“Facebook.” The blonde corrected screwing up her nose in disgust at her friend’s lack of enthusiasm, “You’re no fun.”
“That’s not entirely true. Ask D-’” Meredith sighed wistfully as she started to pick at her dry cereal.
“Ew.” Shuddered Izzie, shaking her head to rid herself of her thoughts.
“Go on then, spill, who’s on that Myface thing?” the resident sighed, drawing her words out in mock defeat.
“Oh seriously Mer, you need educating in the ways of the world wide web.”
“I don’t need it, I have real friends.”
“Whatever, I’m not getting into this with you now.” Izzie whinged.
“Hey, who knew it was so easy to wind up a geek?”
“I’m not a-“ Izzie began, pausing upon seeing the smirk adorning her friend’s face.
“I rest my case.”
“Are you even going to ask?”
“Ask what?” Meredith feigned ignorance.
“Who’s on Facebook?”
“I think we’ve established you are Isobel Stevens, and I know that Sloane is because, well, let’s just say his womanising isn’t limited to just the State of Washington.”
“Aren’t you even curious?” Izzie asked with a glare.
“Yes, yes, if anything just to shut you up!” her friend conceded.
Izzie grinned with satisfaction. “Addison Montgomery.” Meredith frowned.
“How is that exciting?”
“Well, I don’t know, I guess, well since she left, it’s been kinda weird.” Izzie conceded.
“Weird?”
“Yeah, I liked working with her, she taught me a lot.”
“Are you sure that’s all?” Meredith asked suspiciously.
“What do you mean?” The blonde asked through narrow eyes.
“You tell me.”
“She’s smoking hot you can’t deny that.”
“No, I can’t.” Meredith admitted.
“Soooo,” Izzie began, “Shall I add her?”
“Add her? What does that even mean?”
“As a friend, add her as a friend.” Izzie said with frustration. She picked up her black coffee and took a sip, grimacing at the bitterness without the milk.
“Do what you like, you will anyway.”
“That’s true.” Izzie smirked. “There.” She said with a click. “I’ve done it, I’ve added her. Ooh I’m nervous now, what if she rejects me?”
Meredith rolled her eyes, “I think you are taking this far too seriously.”
“Whatever.” Izzie said. “Wanna check out McSteamy’s page?”
“Hell yeah.” Meredith squealed and shot around the kitchen island to join Izzie.

“She still hasn’t accepted me.” Izzie sighed, throwing her dirty scrub top into her locker.
“Excuse me?” Meredith answered.
“Dr Montgomery, she hasn’t accepted me.”
“And you are upset why?” Meredith asked, confused by the blonde’s melancholy.
“I don’t know.” Izzie responded honestly. “I guess it’s just an ego thing.”
“You keep telling yourself that.” Cristina chimed.
“What do you mean?”Meredith asked.
“Look at her, she’s moping around like a lost puppy. There’s only one reason a girl does that.”
“Oh!” realisation dawned on Meredith.
“What? No, don’t be ridiculous, I barely know her, I mean, well, we were work colleagues.”
“Oh come on you are crushing on her big time.” Cristina smirked. “I saw the way you used to look at her, and now you’ve found a way to have her in your life again.”
“You’re acting like a love sick school girl.” Meredith concluded.
“Am not.” Izzie huffed, hauling a clean shirt over her head.
“Come on you're hot for Montgomery.” Cristina teased.
“Ever since we watched Transformers you two are obsessed with pairing me off with the nearest single woman I dare to speak of.” Izzie complained.
“It’s not every day your friend comes out to you with the words, ‘I wanna be Megan Fox’s short shorts.’” Cristina grinned.
“They are pretty awesome shorts.” Izzie sighed.
“Snap out of it Stevens, you could give Sloane a run for his money.” The Asian doctor responded.
“Hey, I do not appreciate being categorized in that way.”
“Roll your tongue back in then.” Meredith sniped. Two heads shot up and looked over at the newly qualified resident who had remained quiet throughout the exchange.
“That was actually rather funny for you Meredith.” Cristina acknowledged with a nod. Meredith rolled her eyes.
“It’s only been two days Iz.”
“I know, I’m being pathetic.” The blonde sighed once more.
“Yes, you are.” Came the response in unison.

“Oh hold on, I just got a text message.” Izzie said, she placed down her milkshake and retrieved her cell phone from her lab coat pocket. She looked at the offending object and frowned before reading it. “Ohmygod.” She rushed out with a squeak.
“Please tell me you’re not sexting again.” Alex groaned.
“Oh pur-lease, you are such a liar Karev, who have I, to your knowledge, sexted with?”
“Me?”
“You don’t count,” Izzie replied, “besides, one text telling you I’m wearing jeans and a sweater in response to your sleazy text sure as hell does not count as a sext.”
“Fine. Whatever. You know you want me.”
Izzie rolled her eyes, “Like a hole in the head.”
“Iz?” Meredith asked. “Are you going to share your excite- Oh, you have Facebook alerts don’t you?”
“I sure do.” Izzie replied.
“Am I correct in guessing acceptance has occurred?”
“Hell yeah!” Izzie beamed.
“Who’s accepting who?” Alex asked.
“None of your business.” The blonde snarled.
“Whatevs, I’ll just go on your profile when I get home.”
“Whatevs,” Izzie imitated, “I’ve blocked you.” She said with a smirk.

Izzie was sat in front of the television, laptop on her lap, cup of coffee perched on the table beside her. Whatever was on the television she wasn’t sure, it was merely background noise for the otherwise silent house. The blonde sat, concentrating on the page before her. She was surfing the net, or more accurately perusing her newest friend’s profile. ‘View photo’s of me’ Izzie smiled before hovering her mouse over the link, ‘yes please’ Izzie thought to herself. She spent minutes looking through photo’s of her ex work colleague Dr Montgomery. There were quite a few tagged by others, but what Izzie noticed was a lack of personal photo albums, suggesting the redhead spent little time on the social networking site. Having reached the end and silently pleased Addison’s status showed as single, Izzie was about to log off when a small window popped up.
Addison:
Stevens!
Izzie’s heart jumped into her mouth - that was something she was not expecting.
Isobel:
Hi Dr Montgomery, how are you? How’s LA?
Izzie waited several agonising minutes before the next reply.
Addison:
It’s great, sun, sea, sand, job’s great too. How are you Stevens? How’s life as a Resident?
Isobel:
I’m good thanks, being a resident is great, I get my own interns J
Addison:
That’s great to hear, you’re a great doctor Stevens, you’ll go far.
Isobel:
*blush* thanks Dr Montgomery, you were a great teacher.
Addison:
Glad to hear it. You can call me Addison btw, I’m not your supervisor any more.
Isobel:
Too bad, I kinda miss having you around!
There was a pause. Izzie’s heat rate quickened, worried she has said too much.
Addison:
That’s sweet Stevens, I could always rely on you to make me smile.
Izzie let out a huge breath and read the line about ten times, trying to fathom exactly what it meant. Then Meredith’s voice popped into her head, ‘Maybe it means exactly what it says.’ The blonde groaned and took a sip of her coffee, in deep thought about how to respond.
Isobel:
Well I don’t want to disappoint.
Addison:
You never did Izzie.
Addison:
I couldn’t find you as Izzie, didn’t think to search for Isobel Stevens.
Isobel:
You searched for me?
Addison:
Yeah, of all the people at Seattle Grace, you gave me the least hassle ;)
Izzie:
I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or not.
Addison:
You changed your name!
Yes, take it as a compliment, you were by far my favorite, but don’t tell the others ;)
The blonde intern paused, was this conversation really happening?
Izzie:
I’m flattered, but have you been drinking?
Addison:
One glass of red, but that hardly counts. I mean it, I really enjoyed working with you, I think you were the most enthusiastic.
Izzie:
It wasn’t hard. You were a great teacher.
Addison:
You don’t have to kiss my ass now Stevens ;)
Izzie:
LOL sorry J
Addison:
No problem. What you upto Stevens?
Izzie:
Not a lot, was about to log off when you popped up.
Addison:
That’s not something you hear every day!
How’s Seattle?
Izzie:
It’s Seattle, not much has changed.
Addison:
Derek?
Izzie:
With Meredith, I’m sorry.
Addison:
Don’t be sorry Izzie, I expected it tbh. I’ve moved on.
Izzie:
You’re seeing someone?
Addison:
No, I just meant I’m over Derek. You?
Izzie:
I’ve never been under Derek :p
Addison:
Haha, touché Stevens. I meant are you seeing anyone?
Izzie:
No, single as ever
Addison:
I’m surprised, you’re quite the knock out.
Izzie:
Lol thanks, you’re not half bad either J
Addison:
I think I’ll take that as a compliment.
Oh, hold on Iz, phone brb.
Izzie:
Ok.
The blonde resident sat staring bewilderedly at her screen. She couldn’t quite believe she was having this conversation with Addison Montgomery. She scrolled up the page to read the conversation again whilst the older woman was on the phone. She could take it one of two ways, Addison was being friendly, having left Seattle Grace Hospital she was no longer responsible for Izzie in any way and was genuinely reaching out and trying to be a friend. On the other hand, it could be construed as flirty, some of the things Addison had said were certainly questionable and could have carried an ulterior meaning. Izzie sighed, why was life always so complicated? She threw her head back into the sofa and closed her eyes momentarily. When she opened them, a new message was flashing on the screen.
Addison:
Sorry Izzie, been called into work. I’ve really enjoyed this, we should do it again.
Izzie:
No worries, I understand.
It’ll be great to chat again, I’ve really enjoyed chatting with you too.
Addison:
Great, I’ll catch you later. Take care Izzie.
Izzie:
Bye Addison x
The blonde smiled and sighed contentedly hoping the little x wasn’t too much in her newly social networking relationship with her former supervisor/work colleague. She was also unsure of whether to tell her friends or not.
“Meredith guess what . . . ?” she said into her cell after hitting speed dial.
