Which means I'll probably be done around 9 or 9:30, because surely no one will go out to eat at 9 on a Thursday night...right?

Oh, but they will! At least they do at my restaurant. We also close at 10:00...I ALWAYS work the closing shift because my department doesn't have a manager in the evenings, and I'm "trustworthy" (read: boring). People actually have the nerve to get mad at me when I won't make them a latte at 9:59. Stinkers.

You were so dead on with this. I personally believe that if we close at 10, they should be out the door at 10. That way everyone can go home! I did have to stay until 10, and I was seating people until 9:45. Lucky for me, once I seated the last customers, I did my closing sidework and left. :D
