I find that a rap on the skull with a specially hardened spoon (Merv is particularly adept at crafting such things, just look at his special "cakes") serves quite well.

I find that words are all very good, but sometimes the human race needs reminding with a bit of physical pain. "Know thyself" takes on a whole new meaning when one is nursing a cracked skull.
