Oh wow, I hadn't heard anything about movies and such in quite some time. I don't know much about the plotline or anything, but I miss the SG-1, Atlantis shows.
Yeah, that's because MGM went bankrupt. They put a ton of straight-to-dvd releases on hold because they couldn't make the numbers crunch in their favour.
I don't recall where I saw the article, but the original creator of Stargate was tossing about the idea to go ahead with his intended second and third movie, as he'd originally planned on Stargate to be a trilogy. Unfortunately, MGM bought the rights and turned it into a TV Series. With the cancellation of SGU, the poor guy now has a window of opportunity to go ahead with his original intentions.
As far as Extinction goes, I stopped reading JoeM's blog AGES ago, and from what little I saw of what he said about it before the idea was tossed onto a shelf to gather dust, I was hopeful that it wouldn't suck. But this new information has me a)rethinking the whole thing, and b) kinda grateful that it was never made.
Sad, I know. But I have too many fond memories of the series for them to be sullied by a half-assed, direct-to-dvd movie.

Ark of Truth was freaking awesome and involved no time travel. Continuum was all right. I think Extinction would be meh. *sigh*

And I agree. AoT was a nice Season-11-in-a-nutshell movie. I had higher hopes for Extinction.
Since I made it a requirement of everyone who posts on my journals. I'm tired of all the spam.
