......And Suddenly

Mar 14, 2009 17:47

I wish I either lived in Vancouver or had the cash to spring to fly to Vancouver in addition to having the cash to attend this year's Creation Con in April.

Note to Self:

Never, ever look at Con guests lists when you know for a fact that you'll never be able to attend ( Read more... )

Oh, wow, look at all those people attending! And I only live 3 hours south! Yikes! I wonder what my mom will say as she is practically in love with Joe Flanigan. Haha. But he is cute, so...

Awww. Well, all the good stuff is probably sold out anyways. And by not going, you can save up for an even better con some other time. ;)

THIS IS WHAT I'M SAYING.

Dude, the only way it could have been more perfect is if Ben Browder was going to be there.

Augh that sounds so awesome.

If it helps at all, I've heard over the years from fans in various fandoms that Creation Cons are not all that well run, the con organizers are rude to the attendees, and it's not worth the money. Especially with the whole tiered system going on. (Admittedly the set tours DO sound awesome, but those tickets are always those prices for Creation Cons, whether there's set tours or not. So so very too high, IMO.)

It so, so does.

And that only helps a little, because it doesn't change the guest line-up at all.

And I thankfully did not see the prices and thankfully much of the stuff that interests me is sold out, so yes.

Frankly, I think I'd rather save monies for Comic Con, despite who'll be there.

*may try and budget to go to the two local cons, just to lose her Con Virginity*

The prices are soooo steep and not worth it, IMO.

YES. WAIT. YOU'RE GOING TO COMIC CON? I've been trying to go for like... 5 million years now. You mean San Diego Comic Con, right? Not the NY one?

Oh heee. I remember when I was 18, going to my first con, my friend telling the entire shuttle van from the airport (full of con attendees) how it was my first con and I was losing my con virginity. Oh, good times. The local ones here aren't really great, but I've been to other "local"/small/fan run cons that are just fabulous. They're more relaxing cons than the huge ones like Comic Con or Dragon Con, but I did enjoy Celebration 3, too. Uhh I'll stop my rambling now, I just haven't been to a con in FOREVER. :(

You'd thing they would have scaled back the prices, considering the economy these days.

Never said I was going to Comic Con. Merely meant that I'd be better off saving to go there rather than waste my time with something like Creation, if it's as bad as you've heard. And yes, the one in San Diego :)

Well, I have two coming up here in town, both of which are fairly large-ish. Not Comic Con scale, I don't think, but the right size for a newbie.

*oys and needs to also save for Can't Stop the Serenity*
