Yeah, so I get up this morning, all sleepy-eyed and prepared to not set up my laptop until after I watch a couple of movies and such, head into the living room/dining room...and find my laptop in much the same position I left it last night

Yeah, Me + AIM = LATE BEDTIME OMGWTF. And as I have been attempting to go to bed at reasonable times so I don't have a repeat of the Christmas/New Year's sick thingie, Iiiiiii avoid AIM unless I know I have the next day off.
