- I'm becoming obsessed with Alicia Keys' "Un-thinkable." And I'm hyperemotional right now (I swear, if my period doesn't come like tomorrow, I'm calling my psych, because this shit is baffling), so watching the video is making me weep. The media scholar part of my brain shares Racialicious' issues with its treatment of history and the portrayal ( Read more... )

My faaaaaaaavorite freaking out internet story. Oh my god, kept me up ALL NIGHT, just positive there was something right outside my door.

I have halfway convinced myself that this cold has settled into pneumonia, but Mom laughed and said I was being stupid, and this is one time I'll be happy to believe her over the alternative.

I hope your books keep you warm and healthy. If they do not, you should go look at this.

Aaaarrghhh, Slender Man. I'm not sure I can make it through the whole thing. At least it's still daytime now, so I can attempt to watch it.

And I see your attempts to pimp me into another boy band. Now I hope you have the plague.

OH GOD NO NOT GILEAD. Actually when I first read that I got really freaked out by the flashbacks to just before Gilead and being like "... that's pretty much now." As I suppose was the idea. But man, I just can't fathom how anyone could want any of the Republican candidates! I don't get it! They seem worse than Bush.

in the meantime, I hope you can rest and heal fast!

Thank you, baby! I'm going to the doctor today to hopefully be told that I don't have pneumonia.

And all the Repubs are so scary! It's like, I understand this is an election year, so they're pulling out all the base-baiting stuff. But, for real, did you see the new law in Arizona that will require you to explain to your employer exactly why you need birth control? I'm like, "holy shit, I live in a dystopia."

I * loove * Un-thinkable. Love it. I have, too, a cold-sort. Blech! When will you come over to So Cal do u think? Also just finished riding the Red Wave. Ick! If only men had to shed their uterine lining (mpreg says it has to be possible. even if it's on Justin's leg. ew!) and bleed thru their penises once a month I bet the world would be... well, totally different. Right?

Un-Thinkable just hit me in the right pining/hopeful spot for my current see-sawing emotional state. And seriously, I'm hoping for my period to come because I'm about to start crying if the bus is late or I can't find my favorite shoes. Luckily, I have a family full of men who are like, "Are you PMSing? Because we can let you just sit and watch TV if you are."

Why did I just watch that Internet Story at night? Alone? I mean...AL1.

I was discussing Santorum recently and we were all like, "He MUST know that he's ridiculous, right? Like this is performance art?"

Ahahaha! I gave you fair warning. That shit creeps me out.

And Santorum is so bugfuck crazy. Either Salon or Slate had this piece on why it's okay for journalists to say that voters are stupid, and if ever there was a time for that, it is now.
