An Old Witch's Taleate_ernieDecember 9 2007, 14:34:26 UTC
Mrs. Malfoy,
Most old witch's tales have some basis in fact, but I have yet to develop any imperical evidence.
The supposition is that at conception the baby has a magical core the size of both of the bairn's parents. During the first tri-mester, it effects the mum in one of two ways either by morning sickness or having the magical core of the affect the mum's magic in minor ways as the bairn's core shrinks to the size appropriate to the body.
Then during the next two years, the core grows exponetially untill about four and remains the same till puberty.
