Online book shopping is my therapy

Sooo.. I was thrilled just now because I found some books I was looking for in Amazon in bargain price, and they were EXTRA cheap! Only US$2.00-3.00!! I mean, I literally wanted to jump in joy seeing that because it's pretty much like buying local books instead of imported ones. So I quickly ordered a bunch of them, and then I got to the details ( Read more... )

Ugh I feel the same with amazon.co.uk It's so close, yet not close enough! I miss free shipping online shopping *sigh*

I've yet to see Sherlock Holmes. It's the thing for this year, so I'm looking forward to the time when the DVD comes out :P

I felt exactly the same about Time Traveler's Wife, it was rushed, but still wasn't bad. I don't think it would mean a lot without the book though. It was more like a companion movie rather than a stand alone romance... But time stamps were needed. It's a time travel movie for god's sake and only hair style changes doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't understand when Henry died in the past if it wasn't for the book. I like the ending of the movie though...

One day... one day we shall have free shipping! (Well, here's hoping)

It's more fun to see it in the big screen! Although I don't know if they still have it over there :P

The ending was sweet, but I kind of like the book's ending more. You know, with Henry not meeting Clare again until it's so far in the future when she's already old? Feels more... amazing somehow.

OH I WISH...

We do have it here, but I'm too lazy (and probably cheap) to go and pay for it :P

oh book is awesome in all ways, no argument there!

The TTW was such a disappointment :/ the book had its happy and sad moments, but the whole film had this dark depressing melancholic tones... there was no intensity, it just kept going for two hours - rushed - as you said, and nothing more :/ way to waste a fantastic book and two amazing actors! ç_ç (but I cried anyway XD)

They should've made it a bit longer and pace it a bit slower, maybe. It wasn't even full 2 hours, and they could've gone 2 and a half if they wanted to, it's still within acceptable movie limits and all.

yeah amazon really sucks sometimes!

As for the Time Traveler's Wife, I watched that on a plane to England and I agree with your critiques. I haven't read the book but the way it was done, I just ended up really feeling nothing for the characters and they didn't really seem to have a lot of chemistry, the actors that is. It was really rushed and in the end I just didn't really like it. I think I will have to read the book though.

I imagine it'll feel even less impressive if you haven't read the book, because I only liked it because I already know the story and was just seeing how it all came into play. But yeah, if you haven't read it, it wouldn't be much. The book's much better!

I still cannot believe it was that much for shipping, that's such a rip off.
