Below you will find the summaries available for artists to claim. Only artists who have officially signed up for After Camlann will be eligible to claim a summary.
THIS IS NOT THE CLAIMING POST:
Claims will open in a separate post on Thursday, June 15.
If you aren't available to make a claim yourself, claiming by proxy will be allowed.
Due to the small number of summaries (and the large number of pre-matched artists and authors), we will ask that artists who are already pre-matched please wait 24 hours after claims have gone up before claiming another summary. This will give artists who are not already matched with an author opportunity to still do so. Once the first 24 hours has passed, we will allow our pre-matched artists to claim another if they would like to do so!
Claims will be on a first come-first served basis. Please pick a 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th choice. You may claim one summary in the first round. If there are any unclaimed prompts after everyone has picked, then I will open up another round of claims.
Please Note: You are not required to make 4 choices in order to make a claim. If you'd rather take your chances with just one or two choices, that's up to you.

altocelloTitle: The Golden Path
Rating: Mature
Current Word Count: 48000
Estimated Final Word Count: 60000
Pairing(s) or Gen: Merlin/Arthur, Morgana/Gwen
Warnings: Graphic depictions of violence, major injury and temporary character death, minor character death
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I am partial to traditional and graphic art but am open to anything!
Art specifics: I would love a series of portraits of the main characters and their daemons, but I think it would also be exciting to depict some of the action sequences or pivotal moments. Either, or, or both! Though the story has graphic depictions of violence, I am not keen on graphic images of wounds, etc., and although there are pairings there is nothing sexually explicit in the story. (The rating is for the gore.)
Summary for Artists: Canon era, post S2. Morgana has revealed her magic to the court and fled to the Druids for her life. Everyone despairs until a scholar arrives in Camelot with word of a sword that can put an end to the source of all magic. Arthur leaps at the chance to embark on a quest, and Merlin, of course, follows. But how can Merlin support and protect Arthur while also ensuring Arthur doesn't succeed? Meanwhile, Morgana makes a new life for herself, and Gwen fears she'll never find her again. This story is a fusion with the His Dark Materials series and features daemons (essentially animal companions). No knowledge of HDM required.
Characters: Merlin and owl, Arthur and lynx, Gwen and rabbit, Morgana and panther, Uther and boar, Gaius and snake, Hunith and cat, Freya as bastet and human, a green scaly Lady of the Lake, male and female Druids (and an otter), knights (and dogs/bear), Ealdor villagers, Kilgharrah, evil monster knights, hydra
Visuals: My cheerleader, who is also an artist, has said many times that the story is incredibly visual and presents a smorgasbord of options for you to choose from. Settings include the citadel, the forest, the Perilous Lands, the lake, and Ealdor. Magic is visualized as drifts and clusters of golden dust all over the place. There is both action and reflection, and scenes take place day and night, and at sunrise and sunset. Time progresses from late winter through spring and I talk a lot about the moon!

Title: a thimble of light for an acre of sky
Rating: T
Current Word Count: 16.2k
Estimated Final Word Count: probably somewhere around 25-30k mark depending on how a few scenes shake out.
Pairing(s) or Gen: Morgana & Arthur, with hints of pre Morgana/Gwen and Merlin/Arthur.
Warnings: none really
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: no preference!
Art specifics: can't think of any, whatever inspiration strikes you!
Summary for Artists: Alternate season 5. Morgana redemption and fix-it AU. Morgana POV third person. Heavy Pendragon siblings focus, with hints of pre Morgana/Gwen, and Merlin/Arthur. Arthur finds Morgana shackled, with no access to her magic, imprisoned in the well with Aithusa and brings them back to Camelot. He wants to give her a chance at redemption and to be a family again, but Morgana basically tells him to go straight to hell. However, as the days and weeks drag on Morgana starts letting her guard down more and more, though it's like pulling teeth, and often one step forward, two steps back. The catalysts that start a shift in Morgana and Arthur's relationship are: seeing Mordred as a knight, Arthur telling her that Gwen is pregnant, and that he has a druid girl in the dungeons. (A younger, ten year old version of Kara.) Arthur begins to accept that he may be wrong about magic, and they bond over their desires to not end up like Uther. On Gwen's insistence, the shackles are finally taken off and Morgana has access to her magic again. Instead of trying to kill everyone, she does fun, little things like turn Arthur into a toad for a while, trip Merlin and the nights, and generally be a pest. Gwen and Morgana's friendship (and flirtation) grows, confusing them both. Morgana and Gwen find out that Merlin is Emrys, and all hell breaks lose. They try to keep it from Arthur at first, but it barely lasts and everyone is angry with each other. Saxons are rising up, and Arthur (and Merlin) go to fight some battle, leaving Gwen and Morgana in charge of Camelot. Feelings and panicking about them everywhere. An assassin infiltrates Camelot once they're back and Morgana ends up saving Arthur's life with magic, to everyone's (including her own) surprise. Gwen and Arthur's child is born, and Morgana has been having visions of a changed destiny: all four of them together, the child safe, Morgana with Gwen, Arthur with Merlin etc. She starts to lean in an accept them instead of fighting them, and it ends with hints of the relationships, and Morgana and Arthur in a really good place, with Morgana helping to rule by his side, and the ban on magic lifted.
Possible visuals/scenes: Morgana cross-legged on her bed trying to break her shackles and gain back her magic. Morgana and Arthur as children climbing trees and eating apples, Gwen gently rubbing ointment into the wounds on Morgana's wrists while shackled, Morgana and Arthur arguing in corridors, or staring each other down across the breakfast table. Magic lessons in the gardens with Kara while Arthur and co. watch on, Morgana and Arthur seeing each other as equals. Hope this helps!! Have fun with it!! :)

mella68Title: Breath My Name
Rating: M
Current Word Count: 44,800
Estimated Final Word Count: 60K
Pairing(s) or Gen:Arthur/Merlin, Arthur/Gwen (background)
Warnings:Minor reveal violence, betrayal, acceptance, canon-era scenes, soul-bonding
Arthur reacts badly when Merlin shows him his magic...Arthur hits him (but is very remorseful!)
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix:Would love traditional art, but would be happy with any of these ;)
Art specifics: Would prefer not to have chibi's, anime, or cartoon/comic art.
Cool scenes that may be art-worthy> Arthur watching scenes in Merlin's palm size magic crystal, Arthur, Merlin and Balinor in the crystal cave when Merlin comes into his “power”, Arthur riding to Ealdor to confront Merlin when he finds out Merlin's feelings for him, a night scene in Arthur's chambers when they drink too much wine, many scenes during the 3-day soul-bonding ritual at the druid camp, Beltane feast where Arthur announces magic is now legal and Merlin demonstrates some whimsical magic.
Summary for Artists: Canon-au in early season five. Story is Arthur's pov. Merlin reveals his magic while the two of them are on a hunting trip. Arthur's angry and hurt and lashes out at Merlin, so Merlin leaves early the next morning. Arthur finds a magical crystal Merlin left and in it he sees everything Merlin has done for him over the years - all through Merlin's eyes and memories. Not only can Arthur see the memories, he feels Merlin's feelings as they happen. Arthur goes on a quest (Gwaine in tow) to seek out the prophecies of the Once and Future King & Emrys & if magic can safely return to Camelot. He visits with Mithian/Rodor and the druids to see how magic fits in to daily life and he mulls over letting magic back into Camelot. When he & Merlin find the prophecy, he discovers much more than anticipated- Arthur must decide if bonding with a sorcerer is worth saving Camelot. He brings Merlin back to Camelot and tries to sort it all out though he realizes he knew the answer all along.
This story is a progression of Arthur's acceptance/love of Merlin and magic and his character goes through emotional ups and downs as he learns Merlin's true role for him & Camelot and the basis of their destiny. Would love some beautiful art to help bring this story to life!
Visuals: Many Canon-era scenes outdoors> the forest, crystal cave, Ealdor, and the druid camp, Arthur & Merlin riding horses, a healing house in Nemeth, an emotional scene with Gwen when she realizes the nature of Arthur and Merlin's new destiny, a soul-bonding ceremony in a grove of ancient oaks, exchange of crowns (a beautiful 4-elements nature crown for Merlin complete with magic crystal-lights on the crown), Merlin performing magic at the Beltane feast in Camelot.
Characters: Mainly Merlin and Arthur. Secondary: Gwen, Gwaine, Gaius, Mordred, Mithian, Iseldir, Balinor, Hunith, Leon.

dyloggerTitle: Hello, Sweetheart
Rating: T
Current Word Count: 30k
Estimated Final Word Count: 50k
Pairing(s) or Gen: Merlin/Gwaine
Warnings: Blood, Illness, curse, injuries. Nothing graphic, but they are present throughout most of the fic.
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: traditional art or digital art!
Art specifics: I'm not fussy! Preferred rating is T
Summary for Artists: Post-canon fix-it, Arthur and Gwaine survive: Gwaine and Merlin had been dancing around their feelings for years; Merlin too focused on trying to thwart destiny, and Gwaine holding back in fear of losing what they already had. But the battle at Camlann had come too close to taking everything from them. It’s a second chance for everyone, and Gwaine confronts Merlin about magic, love, loyalty, and (surprisingly) dragons. But the fight for peace is not over yet; Arthur has yet to change the laws on magic, and his ignorance and hypocrisy provokes a group of rogue druids into taking action: they’ve placed a curse on the land, and Merlin is the one suffering the consequences. Thus ensues a quest: Arthur, Gwaine, Merlin and Aithusa travel to four locations with close ties to magic in order to break the curse, and on the way, Arthur begins to right his wrongs and finally takes the time to listen to what Merlin has to say.
Visuals: All of the knights are in the fic. the main characters are Merlin, Gwaine, Arthur, and Aithusa. There is nothing explicitly sexual, but there are scenes where sex is implied. Lots of Merlin/Gwaine cuddles. Dragons, fairies, ghosts, other magical creatures. Lots of scenes outdoors. All locations are from the show.

theoneKierceTitle: Meet Me in the Aftermath
Rating: M
Current Word Count: 15k
Estimated Final Word Count: probably 30k but there's a very VERY small chance it'll end up close to 40k, depending on how everything falls together.
Pairing(s) or Gen: Arthur/Merlin, Gwen/Morgana, various background pairings I haven't decided on yet.
Warnings: violence, temporary major character death, typical vague end of the world tragedies,
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I love literally anything you can come up with!!
Art specifics: I'm honestly cool with anything!!
Summary for Artists: Merlin had known, from the moment he started remembering things that happened lifetimes ago, that if he ever saw Arthur again, it would mean that the world was ending. However, that didn't stop him from praying that every blond he saw was his King risen again. After all, the apocalypse was a small price to pay for finally having Arthur back.

saltyemrysTitle: Pumpkin Spiced Asshole
Rating: Explicit/NC-17
Current Word Count: 19,700. (The story is more of less complete, but I am going to expand upon some scenes and go into a bit more detail here and there).
Estimated Final Word Count: 25k-ish
Pairing(s) or Gen: Merthur
Warnings: None, but Arthur is a bit of a prat at first (to be expected)
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I'm a sucker for traditional, illustrative art (especially if you're willing to do at least one NSFW piece) but am honestly pretty okay with anything.
Art specifics: I would like at least one NSFW piece, if possible, but otherwise would be happy to see any scene(s) from this story come to life.
Summary for Artists: Coffee shop AU. Merlin owns a charming, local cafe, where high-powered lawyer Gwaine is a regular (stopping by every morning on his daily job, short-shorts included). Arthur is a prominent businessman. A chance encounter and a ruined pair of loafers leads to Arthur getting a free year's supply of coffee. Oh, and then he buys out the building and becomes Merlin's new landlord. Gwen and Leon play matchmaker. Arthur is jealous. Merlin's in denial. But everything works out in the end.
Visuals include: cute, quaint, charming coffee shop. A soggy pair of expensive shoes. A (costume) party with all the regulars. Smoky bar on date night. Two bathroom encounters. Arthur sitting on Merlin's face.

katrina_lindenTitle: What's a Soulmate? (very tentative)
Rating: R
Current Word Count: ~20k
Estimated Final Word Count: over 30k
Pairing(s) or Gen: Merlin/Arthur
Warnings: non-graphic descriptions of violence
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I like all kinds of art, though my preference would be traditional art/digital painting & drawing. I also like fanvids and manips
Art specifics: There's a pivotal fundraiser and getting art from that night, what everyone was wearing might be cool
Summary for Artists: Finding your soulmate should be a joyous moment, but for Arthur and Merlin things are a bit complicated since Merlin has been accused of killing Arthur's mother. Arthur has to decide whether he truly believes Merlin is innocent or does he just want to believe it because Merlin is his soulmates. What lengths might Arthur go to find out the truth? A modern AU with magic. A murder mystery. A love story between Merlin & Arthur. Other characters that make an appearance are Uther, Morgana, Agravaine, Gwaine, Percival, Gwen, Gaius. A pivotal moment takes place at a fundraiser with lots of guys in nice suits and women in fancy dresses.

Rating: M
Current Word Count: ~15K
Estimated Final Word Count: ~25K
Pairing(s) or Gen: Merlin/Arthur Pendragon
Warnings: kidnapping, violence
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I have a preference for traditional and graphic art, but videos are fine, too
Art specifics: I'm fine with anything.
Summary for Artists: Arthur knew his father kept secrets, but he never expected them to have pale skin and black hair, and be chained up in the basement. What he expected even less was for the man to have Arthur's soulmark on his hip. As the search for Merlin's kidnapper begins, Arthur finds himself doing whatever he can to help Merlin get past his trauma, all the while struggling to keep the truth about their relationship a secret.

katrina_lindenTitle: The Oncoming Storm
Rating: R or NC-17 (though so far it's T)
Current Word Count: 87,810
Estimated Final Word Count: 110-130k.
Pairing(s) or Gen: Arthur/Merlin; some hints of Merlin/Mordred & (past) Arthur/Mordred & Arthur/Merlin/Mordred.
Warnings: Slight Age-Difference (7 years); Maimed!Merlin (in the end); Minor Character Death; Angst, BAMF Merlin, Dark!Merlin (at points), lots and lots of angsting for reasons, many instances of sword/lightsaber injuries (though normally not the nice guys), parental death, explosions/assassination attempts. Oh, and it has a part I, though reading it isn't necessary.
Traditional Art/Graphic Art/Video/Fanmix: I'm fine with anything, really :)
Art specifics: As this is "Merlin does Star Wars: The Attack of the Clones", there's a lot of large, landscape-like visuals; and plenty of action; it ends up being visual heavy. There's also a deep sense of identity to the different settings - the glitzy-but-decaying grandeur air of Coruscant and it's high-tech but old-fashioned spaces; the septic and impersonal paths of Kamino, the mix between nature and architecture of desert Genosis - but all of this is nothing new; we've all seen that in the films. Camelot, however, is meant to be a mix of medieval with high-tech, which would be nice to have in art, because it is particular to the story. There are also plenty, PLENTY of aliens (Jedi Council isn't human heavy at all), but I'm ready to offer info and visuals on all mentioned races.
Moments that might be of interest to the artist include: Arthur's spaceship being blow off in the first scene, Merlin & Mordred chasing a bounty hunter in an air-car chase; Mordred & Morgana talking in front of the Jedi Temple, The Jedi Council discussing the upcoming war, Mordred fighting a Bounty Hunter under the rain in Kamino; Arthur & Merlin dueling (sword vs lightsaber; and it is for fun); Morgause & Merlin dueling (lightsaber and I think some rays?); Merlin over an aircar deflecting Morgause's shooting from another over a forest fire; Arthur pulling Excalibur from the stone, Merlin, Arthur & Mordred tied up in a gladiator arena/fighting beasts with their lightsabers (well, sword in Arthur's case); a Jedi army being surrounded by droids in the arena/fighting against droids; clone & droids battling while A/M/M fly over in an open aircair; duels, duels and more duels; Arthur giving speeches to the Senate. There are also quiet moments, if the artist wishes to draw them. I have no rating of choice, either.
Summary for Artists: (As said before, this is Merlin-does-AotC, but let's give this a try) SW Fusion: After years of tensions and political malcontent, a number of star systems have decided to leave the Republic. While Chancellor Uther insists that he will bring them back into the fold through a mixture of intimidation and diplomacy, his son, Arthur, King of Camelot, isn't so sure that it won't come to war. He goes to the Galactic Capital of Coruscant to present a treaty to ensure that the Republic will have the means to defend itself from a possible attack from the Separatists, and an attempt on his life is made before he even properly lands on the planet. That leads Uther to ask for extra protection for his child, in the form of a Jedi escort. To soften the blow of being baby-sat, it is arranged that Arthur will be protected by his once friend Master Mordred and his padawan, Merlin, that he hasn't seen for a decade. As a new attempt is made, Mordred is pushed into an investigation about the source of the attacks while Merlin's assigned to shadow Arthur and keep him hidden. Mordred's investigation leads him to a lost world where a clone army is being made ready to serve the unknowing republic, and to the bounty hunter that has been trying to murder Arthur. Meanwhile, Arthur & Merlin's hiding isn't going so well when Merlin's mother is used as bait to take them out of hiding - and trigger the discovery of two powerful artifacts. As Mordred continues to chase across the galaxy for answers on who's trying to kill Arthur, Merlin has to fight his own worst instincts, his base impulses and Arthur's hero syndrome all at once. It all leads the trio to be caught by those they were meant to stop, but what will that mean for the war they were trying to stall?
