[Nova as well is inspecting the numerous Christmas gifts and offerings in the store. At some point his scavenging through the objects will lead to him accidentally bumping into Sarah and knocking over some toy robots onto the ground.]

Oh, terribly sorry about that!

It's quite alright.

[She can't help smiling at the robots. Far too young an age range for Luke, but there's a certain charm. She picks one up and sets it back on the shelf]

Nineteen fifties conceptions of robots. Nothing quite like it.

[Nova holds one up and looks it over.]

Indeed! One of my favorite toys as a lad was a retro model of one called 'Great Martian King'.

And the nineteen fifties you say... My oh my. It appears I am in the past after all!

An imitation of them, at any rate. They were never quite this rigid.

It's mostly printstock. The drones would probably think origami was suspicious and foreign.

[ Ilsa picks up a boxed ream of paper, ] this is the weight we use in the memograph at the law office.

[Sarah Jane latches onto the most important piece of information in that statement]

There's a mimograph at the law office?

((I'm pretty sure Sarah Jane actually lives at 2238. I say this only because Yuna here lives at 2237, and was kind of confused when I saw the post. ^^;;;))

Ah signora! Welcome home! Have you had a busy day?

Good afternoon, Figaro. I managed to get most of what I set out to do finished, at any rate.

That's wonderful to hear, signora. I had a busy day myself today at the barbershop!

(Which mostly involved him being chased by angry patrons after he gave them an 18th century hair-do.)

In fact, I was just about to get the mantecados out of the oven. Would you care for one?

That sounds lovely.

[A man who bakes? Yes please!]

Was the barbershop very different from what you're used to?

[Naal sees. Naal sees lots of things. Wait and watch, like the spider on its web, they're real big on that where she's from. Understanding, though, doesn't come quite so easily.]

...is that a decoration? [She's seen a few wreaths on other doors and has no idea what they're for. They don't have any immediately apparent function, but for all she knows they're some kind of warning sign or the plants repel vermin or something.]

It is. There's a major human holiday coming up on the twenty fifth.

Human? [Little as they care about the surface or its inhabitants, the drow are still vaguely aware of racial and cultural distinctions amongst humans.] All of them?

It's largely focused in Europe and North America in my time, though Japan also has a certain fondness for it. It started out as a Christian religious celebration but has become increasingly secular. And a lot of cultures have some sort of festival around this time.
