[Phone, filtered from drones etc.]This question is largely for the women with drones as their assigned spouses. How do you deal with their rather narrow attitudes toward what you should be doing? With the children I can at least tell them to run along and do their homework, but ever since Sirius got droned he's been giving me no end of grief ( Read more... )

I'm afraid I can't help you with a droned spouse.
Mine's rather active.

However, on the second subject, it's difficult to find any trousers without the aid of a tailor.

I find it's just easier to 'borrow' something from your husband's side of the closet.

I'm forever sleeping in Adachi's shirts and he doesn't seem to mind.

Perhaps this would work for you as well?

Hmm, it might work if I can get around the first problem at any rate.

Well, our drone children go to school like clockwork. Perhaps your drone has someplace he goes for work on schedule? If so, help yourself to whatever you find you look good in. He can always replenish such garments.

He has some sort of vaguely defined office job. Nine to five, of course. I suppose the script might be so set he doesn't even notice.

"While this town still considers me a child, so I don't know the full extent of the situation, have you ever considered asking him to go get you something from the basement then locking the door? It seems drones don't have a day to day memory, or at least, they don't remember anything outside the script so it doesn't offend them."

Hmm, he doesn't think I can do any heavy lifting. That might at least buy me some time.

"That may be true, however you are a woman. I've been told that means you can't lift heavy things either by many of the drones. Its stupid I know."

I really had quite enough of those attitudes when I was younger.

There's a shop that sells 'em near the part of town that the Highway showed up in. I...just stayed out of the house when he was home most've the time. [You know, before she got the best not!husband ever.]

That's what I figure. Much too boring to stay in all day.

Ah, I'm quite interested in the second half of that question as well. I can't believe they won't even give us a decent pair of trousers in this place..

Restricting women to skirts isn't even historically accurate.

Well, we can't say they are striving for perfect historical accuracy. I don't believe giant robots destroying towns belong in the fifties, after all.

No... that was the seventies. Maybe the eighties.
