Who: Claire Bennet and Elle Bishop
Where: Elle's Room in Bennet's Apartment
What: Drunkenness

Elle stumbles out of Bennet's apartment building into the bitter cold. She's not even wearing a jacket, but she couldn't care less at the moment. All she knows is that her father is dead, and that it's all her fault. If she hadn't fought with him, hadn't ( Read more... )

The moment that Elle disappeared after announcing on the network that her dad was dead, Claire was scared. She was worried that the girl was going to run off and do something stupid. Maybe search out Sylar, maybe hurt herself in some manner. Claire wasn't sure but she knew that she couldn't let Elle go off by herself. Of course she always seemed to be minutes behind ( ... )

Elle hears Claire enter. Fuck you, cheerleader, she thinks. Fuck you for having a loving father who'll never leave your side. She downs another vodka and juice combination; finally, she can feel the alcohol having an effect. The pain is less sharp, and she's growing warmer despite her soaked clothing. She takes a third drink and waits for it to make her reality even fuzzier. She doesn't want to deal with this. She doesn't know how to deal with this.

Elle can still hear Claire; in fact, the girl's calling out her name. She's probably all worried or something. Elle's eyes narrow. An image flashes through her head: her knocking Claire to the floor and emptying all her electric power into her chest, continuing until Claire screams for it to stop. But she bites her lip and wills it away. She's not going to hurt Claire, she promises herself. No matter how badly she wants the release, she's not going to do it. It would only end up hurting her now anyway, seeing as she's still wet ( ... )

Claire looks around the kitchen, worried as she bites her bottom lip. There was a part of her that knew that she should leave Elle alone and that it was dangerous to try to be close to the other girl. There was a chance that Elle would react out of anger and grief, that she would blast Claire with everything that she had. Claire understands the need, she had times where she needed to hurt herself or someone. When she thought she lost her dad, when Mohinder shot him, she had wanted so bad to bring the Company down. She even threatened Elle which she was sure the other blond remembers.

Walking out of the kitchen, she draws in a breath as she wonders if she should let her dad handle this but then she decides to do it herself. They had decided to be friends, so she will make a further attempt to reach out. Moving to Elle's door, she closes her eyes for a moment and then knocks lightly a couple times before going silent.

Then tentatively, "Elle?"

Elle gets to her feet and swings open the door. Her eyes are narrowed; her stance is combative; her tone is cold, cruel. Smirking, she says, "What's up, pom poms?"

Again, she can see herself standing over Claire, hitting her with lightning again and again until she breaks. She wants it so badly her fingers are practically tingling. But she restrains herself; instead, trusting that she's still wet enough for the electricity not to leave her body, she sends a shock through her own system.

"Whoops. Short circuiting," Elle says after she gasps slightly. Then she gestures towards the bottle of vodka. "How about a drink, pretty?"
