Nathan is the first to open the door, Peter having been looking slightly ill, for some reason. Nathan assumed he just looked out at the city again, and that was it. Expecting it to be Tracy, or some other person he might remotely know (everyone else dying seemed to make the idea of strangers a thing of the past) but here stood someone, gray hair and confident smile, he had no idea who they were.
Peter hears Nathan open the door and say hello and immediately hurries into the main room. He sees Nathan greeting David - it is David, right? - and steps forward to join him. He says, "Come on in!" When David does so, he adds, "My name is Peter Petrelli, and this is my brother Nathan. It's nice to finally meet you." Peter extends his hand; when David takes it, Peter feels something strange flow through him. He must be absorbing David's power, he thinks. Now he just needs to figure out exactly what it is.
David takes Peter's hand and, with a smile, shakes it vigorously. It's a joy to see somebody else; he's been alone for far too long. He was beginning to believe that he was the only one left; it was like living a nightmare. Now here he is with two others. He wonders what abilities they have; according to this Dr. Suresh guy, only those with abilities survived the virus. He figures that he'll wait until they get to know each other a little before starting a more serious conversation, though, so instead of asking he just turns to Nathan and extends his hand. "David Berman," he says, "and it's a pleasure to meet you."
Nathan's apprehension is cut when it turns out Peter knows him. Or at least, arranged to meet him. "And the same to you." Nathan says, taking David's hand and giving a friendly shake. "Good to see another person still surviving."

“...Hello?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
