Motivation

I am really trying to stay motivated. It is difficult because I thought that my roommate was in this with me, but she has completely lost all of her motivation. I am my own person, but it was easier when I felt like I had a partner. Now, I am trying to keep my motivation and renew hers. I try to get her to workout with me, but I have not been ( Read more... )

You know what really helped me to become healthier? I took and continue to take my health as a day-by-day thing. It's the small things, like eating an apple over a bag of chips, or daring myself to workout for merely ten minutes (And once you get pumped you don't wish to stop!) Good luck, I know it's hard, but you'll be proud when you do it! Find some other person to fall on about this too, I'm sure there's an LJ comm about it

You make a good point. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. I will just try to make as many healthy choices as I can. I already feel better with the changes I've made so far.

I have joined a few LJ communities on this, but they don't seem to have anyone who posts to them anymore. Maybe I need to find some new ones.

It's a lot easier and motivating to dare yourself to work out just five minutes more eight times, than work out for forty minutes. Definitely give it a try bb <3

I agree - it's definitely not an allor nothing kind of thing. And the reality is that maybe once your roommate starts to notice your results you'll get some motivation out of her too!

My big problem is not eating too - I had to actually set reminders on my work calendar to make sure I was easting lunch or snacking every 3-4 hours!

I use my cell phone to remind me of everything else, I am going to put in some snack reminders. I'll keep a stash of healthy snacks at work so that I can eat them when I get my reminder. Thanks for the idea!

For someone like me, who can't stop eating, I don't understand how you can forget LOL!

I work with kids, and I get caught up in the work. It just slips my mind. As soon as it's time for me to go home, the hunger hits me.

It is hard when u think u have a partner and then they sorta bail. I was working out by myself, I was asked to join a gym but I sorta hate to be watched, lol

Haha! I was thinking that too. All of my work out clothes are so raggedy. At least if I workout at home, I can still wear those :)
