Loved it. I especially liked the idea that though Andrea wasn't ready for kids earlier, Rusty has grown on her and her relationship to Sharon meant enough for her to accept him as part of the deal as well.

Beautiful work! I read this whole thing thinking it was in two parts (I have no idea why I thought this, so lets just call it wishful thinking :D). I loved the story around the story -- Andrea's past, her uncertainties and how uncomfortable she is with children, including Rusty. It all felt so true to the character. Awesome! Happy Birthday defyingnormalcy!!

Thanks so much for your kind words. :) I always wonder if the retrospective narrative gets to be a bit much. But I had a ball giving Andrea some context! It was so much fun to write this ship in honor of defyingnormalcy's birthday!

Oh wow... what do I say to this wonderful and lovely (and certainly love-filled) fic. You've gotten all the characters' voices and tones perfectly, and I'm amazed at how you've managed all the "moving parts" in this fic. :)

The steady mixing in and hints at Andrea's past in her present is just enough to help us understand and see her journey to this exact moment and all of her thoughts, wants, worries, and fears without overwhelming the current of feeling and concreteness that is the present moment(/relationship/life/family). Rusty's thoughtfulness is true to character as is his concerns and the way he's still very much a teenager (which I'm always glad to see mention of, because he's lived such a very adult life). I love that Sharon's first moments of wakefulness is punctuated by the clear concern and recognition of those people who have become so close to and loved by her.

And you have Provenza and Flynn exactly right, and woah, that SIS agent must have been huge. (O_O)""" I loved the call-back with the balloon - within both canon ( ... )

Oh my goodness, I really love all your observations! Especially about Rusty and how precious it is for him to have these little teenage-ish moments...and the balloon! Hehe, I had to use it!

Thanks for the wonderful feedback. :D
