Congratulations and thank you everybody! I loved all the unique icons that were made based on these two songs' lyrics.

There's a funny story behind my icon. I had spent a long time working on an icon design that used the imagery from this stained glass window design and the lyrics "filled with wonder/awestruck wonder." It just wasn't working, though, and I was growing really frustrated. I finally closed all the files and started from scratch with a photograph of the sky. I was so pleased by how it turned out and my thoughts turn to 1 Kings 8:27:

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!"

God surely is holy and awesome! May His name be praised.

By the way, I'm happy to share icons from this contest if anyone is interested in them. Thanks again.

thanks. it just has come from years of doing this! haha. i really watch what others make and ideas just come from that :) id be happy to help you out any time :)

That's great. And thank you so much for the kind offer! I'm just curious if you use certain (not sure what you call them) patterns, graphic libraries, or other tools? I've never really learned about these, but I have a vague sense that they exist.

Thanks! :) Is the photograph of a certain church building? Also, did you use a photograph or a hand-made piece for the background of the text-only icon? It's so neat to see the contrast between these two!

It's in Jerusalem, I don't know anything else about it. It said it was in the Christian Quarter and I thought it was pretty :)

I used a few different textures layered with different blending options for the text-only icon, I can't recall which ones!
