Great work. I love this. And yes all roads lead to the same destination for Sam and Dean

One way or another, he's gonna find you, he's gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha... XD But on the other hand, it does mean that things come full circle for them. Thank you for the feedback!

Very dark moody atmospheric piece - when I first looked at it, I thought - where are Sam and Dean - but the longer I look the more I like it empty like this. But maybe I'd add the "Destiny can't be changed" quote to the picture too - just so that it would stand alone without the caption....

You know, I had the same thought when I was working on it; I kept trying to work in characters but I just kept preferring the wallpaper to be more objective, cold, distant - more calculating and inevitable basically, especially with the end result being that horrorfest of 5x04. So yeah, I decided I didn't want an emotional touchstone.

And for all that the quote sets up the inevitability, in the end, destiny did get changed. Haha, eat it suckers~! :D

Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

I guess I just like looking at Sam and Dean too much, a picture does seem empty without some pretty - but as you say, this one works. And yeah - they did screw destiny, right in the face in the end, didn't they... :)
Can't wait to see how Season 6 plays out....

Oh, I definitely hear you! This show is not hard on the eyes, not at all, and I often feel weird when I see some fanart or whatever. But you know, for all that in the human perspective Sam and Dean are larger than life and so important, from the destiny perspective supernatural dickbutts treat them as tools. Good thing they got to (mostly) screw destiny!

I'm very very curious about where they're gonna go from here with the themes and arcs, yes.

I'm glad! The show's pretty dark, so I thought I was just conforming to style. ;D

I love how tight the color scheme is, without seeming staged. Also, you've done a very challenging thing here, which is present an image of overall pretty low luminance that doesn't read like you forgot to crank up the contrast; it should be that dark. Also: bahahahaha, uncanny alley.

However, WHY IS THIS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY MONITOR RESOLUTION? (1680x1050 plsthx.)

Edit: Still thinking about this, a whole two or three minutes later. I really like the slightly wonky perspective; it makes this feel like something out of an awful dream. ... also, I love that there's a piano. That just delights me.

You are so bossy. Gosh.

You've probably noticed that I tend to go really overboard on contrast and blast out midtones - I love the charge of bright lights and deep darks - so this whole thing was definitely a massive exercise in restraint. I kept contrasting it up and then brutally shoving it back down.

The truly awesome part? There's not a single image in there that wasn't on the actual set. That production team totally spoils us and I love them forever for their eye for detail and quality standards. ♥

Uncanny alley: at least it's intentionally off-balancing!

:D :D :D

Also, you're a hypocrite. Also also, I was very skeptical about Windows 7 Aero, but this desktop looks rad with translucent slightly red chrome (though I keep shadows turned off).

Still thinking about the perspective. I think what makes it so awesomely disconcerting is that if spacetime is playing tricks on you like that, in this place, any shit could happen: the walls of this alley could slam shut, the Hounds of Tindalos could show up, all sorts of bad things. Clearly the end of that alley is not a place where you want to go.

I only boss people around for their own good and the good of fandomkind. ...And okay, sometimes for myself, fine.

Slight red: A+ choice. :D

About the spacetime/perspective twistiness - Paprika as a movie is very much like what you're describing, since most of it is taking place in a hallucinogenic dreamworld with just enough rules in common with reality to make it confusing. Plus there's essentially a dream terrorist that tries to trap you in certain moments of your nightmares or manipulate you into going to a certain place mentally and sometimes consequently physically. The film takes the idea of someone invading and sharing your dreams to terrifying/awesome psychological consequences. I'm looking forward to seeing what Inception does conceptually as well.

Clearly the end of that alley is not a place where you want to go.

And yet it's the only way you can go. Because I am subtle. And stuff. Shut up.

Incredibly stunning work. I love the shot of the girl at the bottom on the mattress that just...so creepy and punchy. The entire image is very startling, stark, harsh. And the peek of 'Croatoan' in the background. GUH.

Really amazing stuff. <3

Thank you so much! This was my first time making a wallpaper with so much detail, so I was admittedly kind of worried about throwing in so much stuff. But I'm very relieved to hear that it seems to've worked for you.

The Croatoan bit is my favorite. :D

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm actually quite an admirer of yours, so this was doubly flattering!
