So brother, raise another pint
Rev up the engine and drive off in the night
See you somewhere some place some time
I know there's better brothers but you're the only one that's mine

FUCK yes. Also: "Rumbrave", a song so directly relevant to 5.04 I can't figure out how to make a fanvid about it without it being all cheap and literal. ALSO also: "Yes", from their latest album. And "Coming Home" is one hell of a Lucifer song. And....

("I'm not obsessed with this band," I said to a friend recently, "they just keep recording songs about stuff I watch.")

In other news, um, hi. I'll be mentioning this in my journal soon, but I am crawling out of my hole. Which means porn, sometime next week. To answer the question you asked me a while back about whether the handprint was going to feature in Song of Songs part 4: hold onto your hat.

"End of the Line" is my go-to apocalyptic song for the the Colt/Lucifer/Winchester showdowns (especially circa 5.04) but probably more due to it's atmospheric, chilling narrative than any specific references to the episode. That episode haunts me so awesomely. But you are completely right: their themes tend to intersect with that show I
on nearly a freakish level. It's so great.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, HEY THERE STRANGER! I'm so delighted to see you back with us! And not only that, you're bringing dome of your porn?? What, did Christmas come early or something this year? It hardly needs to be said, but I'll be waiting on tetherhooks for that installment! Is that series looking to be a four-parter or are you finding that there's more of the story to tell?

Discussions of what Murder by Death is tend to involve a lot of "post-punk" and "alt-country" and other genre terminology that makes my eyes glaze over. Screw that: they are a cowboy rock band, and it is a cowboy rock show, and that is why it's such a perfect marriage.

(Also also also: "That Crown Don't Make You a Prince". I mean, I could go on like this for hours, we both could, and probably mention 95% of the songs in their discography in the process, but that's a hell of a song.)

I'm so delighted to see you back with us!

Holy crap thank God. I'm kind of concerned about getting a lot of "who are you?" and "fuck off, we don't need flakes here", probably due to an inflated sense of my own importance. It's good to talk to you again too. I have missed your hilarious tags.

Personally I've been wanting to make a vid to "A Master's in Reverse Psychology," especially the uh - the instrumental part, what is it, the bridge? Clearly I am well educated in proper musical terminology - it's very very easy to visualize action montages à la the finale recaps. But it would be far too easy and I am going to resist because I do have will power I do. What I do not have is adequate space on my hard drive though there are some things I could delete.

Talking about genre - at least for music - is not really comprehensive or useful to me since I'm not very systematic in my listening practices. "Cowboy rock band" works fine for me.

And as far as welcoming you back - well, you're no longer allowed to sit at the cool kid's table because you ditched us for so long - no, I can't even keep a straight face. If there were any amends to make, a fic offering would definitely go a long way - but since there aren't, it's just a sweet sweet bonus ( ... )

YES, exactly. It's hard to figure out how to talk about it and there needed to be more hugs.

Also, Sam.

It was definitely an awesome Sacrifice Part II, moment. I loved it.

The Impala narrative. IDEK. It was just...I can't even describe its awesome.

I won't lie, I was waiting for Adam/Michael to look back at Dean with tears in his eyes before I realized wtf that is backwards Adam didn't birth Sam but it did cement my belief that the show is definitely Xena and that Gabriel needs to snatch Sam in mid-fall so he can blackmail Dean.

Once I realized that he was going to have to jump into a swirling vortex of death or whatever I was all "HOLY CRAP, XENA MOMENT INC!" But then I realized that I need to fix my filter so that it stops shouting obscenities at people.

I definitely need Gabriel to like blackmail Dean into a sham wedding with Sam's life in the balance
