i have to admit though, i have become so sick and tired of dealing with the music industry, that i don't even really hardly ever listen to other people's music anymore... i would rather become absorbed in my own creativity, instead of patronizing other people. if other people want to create with me, they are certainly welcome to participate. i ( Read more... )

I have no talent to create music myself, and it is essential for me as a human being to listen to others. However, my critical faculty 'allows' me to only listen at home or at a show of my choice. I don't twig to the mainstream crap around me. In fact it nauseates me.

at least you interact with the music as a critical listener, or as a dancer...

satire often helps me cope with the formulaic drivel that cunsumer commodity culture pumps out. the only way that i can tolerate listening to popular music, or watching major motion pictures, is by communication with other audience members... through sarcastic heckling, or analytical discussion.

though i believe that we're mostly preaching to the choir, here in this medium.
