Homework is merely an extension of a class. Without the stress of being surrounded by peers or a teacher. If the assignments are difficult it shows what you need to ask the next day.

It's not that they're difficult. I just need to get used to this sort of routine.

That is normal. If you find you are having difficulties with something you should ask. It's what teachers are here to do, teach and explain things.
