This weekend The Orionids meteor shower is supposed to peak, but we probably won't see any of it here. It's cloudy this evening and supposed to be cloudy again tomorrow evening. Right now we are getting a few flurries

I love your 'meteor icon' and your gratitudes. I never get to see the meteors anymore due to living in the city(too much ambient light) and living within the valley so there aren't any wide open dark spaces. Clouds get in the way too. Oh well, one of these days i will be in the right place at the time of a meteor shower and will be able to view them again.
Thank you. Our very dark nights are one of my favorite things about living out here. The first time our oldest daughter stayed over after dark she was amazed how really dark it was. No street lights, and the houses are spaced far enough apart that even a yard light is far enough way so as to not affect viewing the night sky. It does present a challenge trying to focus for photography at night but worth it.
