I haven't written anything in a while. I seem to be wallowing. Kinda blah...no real reason for it. The Christmas spirit is no where to be found. It's been colder lately. I don't like getting up when it's dark...but Teddy doesn't seem to care. It's even harder to motivate myself to go to Curves when it's dark and cold. *sigh* I haven't been doing ( Read more... )

I have not been exercising, I must confess. I'm still getting over that disease from last week. I may see a doctor Monday.

It was 28 degrees this morning driving to work. There was frost on everything. We have had beautiful weather, but rain and clouds are moving in.

Everyone is waiting for the new year. We just get sucked into Christmas the whole month of December. There is still five weeks left in the year, though.

Maybe you need to make a batch of Christmas cookies.

I think I'll do just that tomorrow. It is one of the few days that I don't have anything going on. I have been out for one reason or another too much lately.

I know what you mean, it's hard to be motivated and easy to wallow with it getting darker sooner. And although winter is normal, natural, and downright beautiful, there's something special about warmer weather (seems better for the soul).... Glad you shared that, nice to know I'm not the only one missing the sun....

I truly miss the sun. Every winter it is the same. Maybe I should bundle up in warm cloths, wrap myself in a blanket, sit outside in my Adirondack chair and soak up some day light even if it isn't very sunny.

I'm just now starting to get into "the spirit". Just like me, you've had a lot going on in the last year. Just let yourself ease into the season.

Sending hugs, Dawne...many, many hugs. ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))

Thank you for the hugs. Hubby mentioned something about putting up the Christmas tree in early December. That might help, that and baking cookies like opakele suggested.

No reason to worry about lack of Christmas spirit momo, its just november yet. November is a tough month, its grey, with no happy holidays for canadaians in it and the retailers try to get everyone all hyped up at least 30 days too early. As much as you dislike getting up when its dark.. if you don't Teddy's schedule will get mixed up and you will feel like a mole person cause you will be in the dark most of the day. At least getting up while dark almost guarantees being able to see the sun at some point in time in the afternoon even if it is just the sunset.

When you are ready for Christmas.... you'll find your spirit but don't be disheartened because you can't find it this early. You don't normally decorate til the 5th or later any way so no reason to fuss.

And maybe, while the sidewalks are still clear and it is just cold.. go for a walk or sit outside in the sun all bundled up for a little extra vitamin D from Mr Sunny. I loves you mommy and you don't have to worry, you aren't a grinch.
