It's because of Finnegan spurning Kirk's advances that he's his more toned down, and logical, boyfriend.

I think we should find some sort of thing that we can coordinate some time together to do, so that we have a "did X with my sisters" :)

Actually, a large part of the Star Trek writing process went into answering the question "How much are we going to have Kirk kick the shit out of someone or something this week?"

Sometimes as much as 22 minutes of the show would be dedicated to Kirk's violence. :D
