As of yesterday my Munchkin can open his bedroom door with every try. Last night he came out of his room three times at bed time. We calmly put him back to bed each time and told him that it was time to go night night. He would smile and snuggle down in his bed saying "cozy", and a few minutes later he'd come out in the living room grinning from ( Read more... )

You could get one of those door knob covers that they can't open. Just a thought:) Boy are they crafty.

They really are. The lock is actually on the outside of the door, so I could even lock him in, but that feels really bad, so I'm just teaching him to stay in his room at night and hoping that the curtains will fix the morning thing. He was up at six again this morning. This can't go on!

Good Luck with that. anonymous June 2 2006, 14:47:22 UTC
The Boy child, has always been an early riser. He has the darkest room and is still the first one up almost every morning. He can now read a clock and has strict instructions not to get up before 6 am. Fortunately, he's now old enough that he can get up and go downstairs and watch TV by himself. And I get to stay in bed until about 7.

Seven sounds like heaven right now. Before he could open the door he would play in his room quietly until about seven, but now he comes toddling in our room with the biggest grin on his face and says "Wake up, Mamma, wake up!"

Early bird and night owl....not the best combination I would suspect. Where does he get that early gene? John?

I love the picture of him sneaking out of his room after night-night, a big s*@t-eating grin on his face. "Momma, sneaking, momma!"

lol...he does love sneaking. :) Yeah, it could be from John, it could be from my brother who is an early bird. At least he's so cute it's hard to be mad about it.
