I can hear this in sam's voice so easily. And it makes me wonder how Cas would take it. Being thanked. Has he ever been thanked? And I love the way you took it. This is the kind of feel good thing I needed after last night's ep. Thank you for this!

I think a conversation like that is overdue but I'm sure we won't get it onscreen :(

I don't believe anybody has ever bothered to thank Castiel but with both Winchesters being emotionally repressed that's hardly a surprise.

I agree, 5x14 ended so very dark... now there have to be a ton of feel-good-fics to make us survive the next 6 weeks.

Lovely! I don't know why they can't all talk like this for real. Silly boys! How can you all be so angsty when you have each other?

Especially liked the part about Cas having become what Sam always thought angels should be. He needs to recover some faith like that. :)

He definitely does. I think now in S5 although slowly falling Castiel is indeed becoming more and more angelic. He surely still has his quirks and bad sides but he is on the right path.

I think all three of them just need to hug it out. Cupid has already shown them how to do it. Perhaps if they leave their clothes on they wouldn't be that afraid of cuddeling...?

I loved that bit. It’s so true… in the process of falling and becoming more human, Castiel actually became more like a true angel then all the rest of his brethren. Cold heartless bastards who only fallow orders and don’t actually give a shit about humanity is not the definition of what an angel is or should be like… but Castiel I believe is, and partially for the very reasons you so perfectly pointed out.

This is a great little fic, and a wonderful way to fill in some of the missing pieces of that episode. Plus, it doesn’t clash at all with the other fic I read about this very same gap in time, it actually complements it wonderfully, so I’m loving this all the more for that. lol

Plus, the ending totally turned my heart to pudding and made me smile, so epic. Team Free Will… FTW! <3

I'm really curious how Castiel will develop further. It looks like the only way for an SPN Angel to become like the Christian Angels of the New Testament is to experience friendship, loss, lonelyness, hope and all those things Castiel has been struggling with since he came back in 5.01. Somehow I am wondering if God is trying to get a template for Angel v2.0 in this way...
