Tag to 4.11 "Be All My Sins Remembered," so spoilers for that (obviously).
Teyla-centric, with generous side of team and dash of McKay/Sheppard if you would like.
(
The shadows make him flat and dangerous, and she thinks that this man in front of her right now is the man most others fear. )

I mean, "Is this a joke?" is not the tactful thing to say to a woman when she tells you she's pregnant.

"--which is the same as going off alone. I will stay behind."
Really loved those lines. You really grasped Teyla's anger over John's reaction and I loved how you kept her true..this is a different culture and the values John placed upon protecting her and her baby may not be the same. The sparring scene she was so in control....so very Teyla.
On the other hand she did lie to Sheppard for over two months....I think he felt hurt at her inability to trust him. John doesn't allow people to get close to him and I'm sure he felt he'd been wronged by her omission and very hurt as well.
I felt his actions were right, he is responsible for her, but it really was the wrong time and place to have that type of conversation.
This was really though a beautiful piece. Loved Rodney's reaction so him and I hope we'll see it on screen.

I think she said just under two of the three months. Which is quibbling, I know :D (But I guess it makes her omission slightly less glaring, time-wise?)
I completely get where John's coming from, and I think he is hurt--but you're right, too, that what he said really didn't need to be said right then, or in the way he said them. Of course, this is John we're talking about, and I don't think it could have happened any other way; he'd still freak if she told him over coffee, or woke him up at midnight.

I seriously, seriously hope for Rodney's reaction, though judging from next week's previews, we may not get it :( But I just love the thought of him researching pregnancy and child-raising and becoming progressively more horrified the more he learns, but still trying to help in his completely awkward Rodney way :)
