Love your diary! It brings back so many memories. I think I dressed my daughter in something like 90% consignment shop clothing until she was 2 -- faithfully returning items there at the end of their usefulness to turn them into new stuff.

I made a vow when I got pregnant that I would not buy this kid new-new clothes until he was 2. I already broke it, but only once, and only because my nephew /begged/ me to buy Nate a superman onesie to match his shirt (he's worn it once).
