Ode to Spell checking

This was posted on the Goth Forum I seem to spending most of my time on in the run up to Whitby. It's a nice place, full of people who like the English Language. This is an absolute corker for all grammatical types, you'll love it!

Yeah, but at least you look at your first draft and go 'oops' then change stuff. I make lots of typos but I'm usually correcting them almost as soon as I've seen them when I type. Its not something I do concsiously, it's automatic and the ones I don't pick up on are picked up by my lovely British firefox dictionary. That's the best plugin ever I think.

*snickers*
I am always pathetically amused by the fact that spellchecker recognises itself as a 'bad' word.

That sounds kind of familiar. Next you'll be telling me you type in perfectly acceptable words randomly just to see if doesn't recognise them - or is that just me?...

I've customised my spellchecker so it doesn't flag me up on the likes of Methos, Harkness, Torchwood (it wanted that to be touch wood funnily enough) and Siannon; though kudos to the spellchecker, it wanted Siannon to be Shannon.

Me? Do something like that? Never!

Okay, you caught me, but I don't do it nearly as often as I used to.

It doesn't matter how often I add Harkness and Ianto to my dictionary they never stick grrrr.

It wanting Siannon to be Shannon was unbelievably intelligent of it.
