Crossover Big Bang. I am really not thinking about this. Honest.

Bearing in mind I have always said that I don't write well to deadlines and that I have only ever completed one Big Bang on time, I don't know why I am always tempted by them when I see the sign up posts start to come round. Now it is the turn of Crossover Big Bang at crossbigbangThing is, I have a fic that was started for a Big Bang and was never completed, ( Read more... )

big bang, crossover, fic-babble

I'm a huge fan of your writing and I say go for it, if only for the selfish reason that I'd get to read more of your stuff :)

All that aside... I also hate writing for a deadline which is why I never sign up for these sorts of things.

*blushes* thanks for the compliment - I'm always a bit astounded when someone says they're a fan!

I'm seriously considering it.

Ha I too am amazed people bother reading the crap that I write but your stuff is great! Like a lot of the authors I love, I really do try to emulate your quality... especially since I'm a Torchwood/Highlander author :)

I didn't know about this bigbang myself until you posted it. I was seriously considering it for a while since the FAQ said they would take sequels (I'm in the middle of writing a series) but I've decided not to... my fear of the deadline!

I found you on AO3. :) I've always had a soft spot for Torchwood/Highlander stuff (not a great surprise I'm sure).

Douglas Adams had the right idea about deadlines I think...

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by."

I think the pompoms may be required (though I am quite happy with gently waving handkerchiefs). Keep your fingers crossed too, just in case!

DO IT!!! :D

Seriously, it's tricky to know what's best, but I do think it might be what you need- you were talking about trying to write it again anyway. And I want to know how it ends! :)

You know how it ends, we just don't know each step of the journey yet!

OK, this is becoming a much more serious consideration now. :)

Yay!

True, perhaps I should have said I want to see how it plays out :)

If we do this, you'll still claim the fic as the official artist, won't you?

Artist sign ups are here, rough drafts are due on 3rd June and artist claims are on 8th June, closing date is 21st July and Posting starts 1st August.

As I don't think I'll be doing much during Summer because of finances (can't really afford the Who con I want to go to with Serenity Forever, Vampire Ball and Whitby fairly close together from September) I think the schedule is do-able and it's not as if I don't have some ideas of how to get where the fic is going.

I guess it comes down to how you write best. I don't really write fiction, but when I am completing papers for grad school I work better with deadlines (even if I keep pushing them back) than with no deadlines. In any case I would love to read something in the mystery verse whenever you end up finishing it. Good luck!! :)

I think the time may well be right. RL willing.

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I could well need them!
