Another point: If you're in the UK and (well, binary, they claim I don't exist) trans, you have to dissolve your current marriage/partnership if you want to legally change your gender. Not switch, dissolve and then start all over, with all the potential stress and problems that causes.

This would fix that.

Ridiculous is too tame a word. It is serious what-the-fuckery!

Now I understand the hassle 2 friends of mine went through - they were married, both needed to transition but couldn't stay married (I didn't understand why at the time). They no longer talk to each other and I'm only in touch with one of them, I guess the stress of this had a fair bit to do with it.
