And even from this little glimpse I think I like Blaise, quite a bit actually.

Glad you like, I'm rather fond of Blaise myself.
Blaise first appeared in one of my consci_fan_mo efforts last year Illumination (my first 'young Gaius' fic) and then again in Shadowplay - which is also the fic that mentions Darius as a teacher. If you read those, I think you'll like Blaise even more... they're both nice and short!
