Week 81: Submit

Oct 14, 2008 09:53

You can blame me rewatching Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series for this week's theme, as it played this song as a joke and it got stuck in my head. That's right, we have another lyrical theme this week. I've always loved this song, it's quite beautiful and sad, and it makes me want to cry when I listen to it sometimes. But I think the lyrics can be put to good use on some Aeris icons. For this contest you must have at least 2 consecutive words from the lyrics on your icon.

The song is "Bright Eyes" by Art Garfunkel. More commonly known as that song from the movie Watership Down, which in turn is more commonly known as "that movie about bunnies that gave me nightmares."

Lyrics and download/youtube links to the song under the cut.

Is it a kind of dream,
Floating out on the tide,
Following the river of death downstream?
Oh, is it a dream?

There's a fog along the horizon,
A strange glow in the sky.
And nobody seems to know where you go.
And what does it mean?
Oh, is it a dream?

Bright eyes,
Burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.

Is it a kind of shadow,
Reaching into the night,
Wandering over the hills unseen?
Or is it a dream?

There's a high wind in the trees,
A cold sound in the air.
And nobody ever knows when you go.
And where do you start,
Oh, into the dark?

Bright eyes,
Burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.

Bright eyes,
Burning like fire.
Bright eyes,
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes.
