A Sharp and Pointy Rant

I want to be able to find and use sharp and pointy tools and utensils again. I hate that these things are made "Safe and Sane"  presumably to protect the helpless, other people's untended or dull (pun intended) offspring. If I see one more item "made safe" for children, I'm going to scream. At this rate, the next generation of kids will be afraid to do anything that looks scary, and everything looks scary!

You can get pointy tweezers through science suppliers, though. We need ultrafine points for working with micrograins and other miniature work.

You aren't kidding, everyone is so wrapped in cotton wool that they've lost their self preservation survival skills too.

I have a pair of pointy tweezers but if I ever lose them I'd been doomed, thanks for the heads up on a secret source. :-)

I should add forks to the above list. Ever look at new forks? They have short, thick, blunt tines. Completely useless and totally inelegant but they're safe and sane by gum!

I haven't had to buy new forks in ages, so mine are the sharp ones you can use to hunt fish with, à la pointy trident style.

If I have to get new forks, I'll get the ones at the dollar store. Perfectly serviceable, and normal, because no one who sells goods at a dollar store spends a lot of R&D to make their product "safer"...
