Late Friday at Work

It's been a very Buffy day, and I'm sweetly passing the last few hours at work (we're putting out a script tonight, and I'm happy, awake, and proofreading). I can't get this old English folk ballad out of my head, especially as sung by crazed, lovesick sweet William, and all Buffy fans will know ( Read more... )

Heh. The funny thing about that song is that even after the whole William/Spike thing, I still associate it most strongly with the most gentle children's show I've ever, ever seen -- The Friendly Giant. ^_^ Thanks. You've triggered a sweet memory of lovely little program for me.

I know! My Canadian friends always go on about the Friendly Giant. It sounds like a lovely show.

And yay, we're all feeling sweet tonight.

(12:01 am, I'm still at work, and yet I feel quite contented. And sweet.)

Every kid wanted the Friendly Giant as a grandpa (in addition to their own, of course, because Grandpa was cool).

I had a Buffy music moment last night too. I was checking out a site that has code that you can paste into your LJ, that embeds music videos in posts. Like instead of a gif, it's a little player that screens the entire video. On the list was Michelle Branch's 'Goodbye to You', which of course was the song she performed onstage at the Bronze when Tara left Willow and Spike broke up with Buffy. Totally one of the defining moments of the incredible-in-hindsight sixth season.

Here, wait -- lemme see if it works. Apologies if it doesn't -- it's in wmv format, and who knows what additional codecs you'll need installed to see and hear it properly.

I'm not even a fan of Michelle Branch, but that song brings back good TV memories.
