[Never has Merlin felt more awkward about lying to someone about his magic. Never. The sorcerer scratches his head; he almost wants to tell this boy his secret since he seems so enthusiastic about magic, but.. He just can't. But that doesn't mean Merlin can't try to cheer him up.]

Things will be different when Arthur's king, though. I know he'll be a legendary sovereign, one that's fair and just. Between you and me... [Merlin smiles.] I think magic will come back into the kingdom then.

I know it. Arthur isn't without prejudices, but his mind is open enough to see when he's wrong. He's.. He's shown openness to the idea of magic not being all evil before, but he cannot oppose his father. [And oh how Merlin longs for that time, when he'll be allowed to truly be himself.]

[Yes that's it. He's a magical creature with the power to charm anything. Sadly, Arthur doesn't have that kind of ability to use against his father. Merlin's smile has a slight hint of sadness to it.]

It isn't as though he has not tried. Uther is set in his ways, has been for more than twenty years. And it's.. It's not wise for Arthur to argue with his father.

It really is a shame...but here in Somarium there's a lot more freedom, as well as so many other magic users from so many different worlds. I'm sure had you been able to use magic you would get along with them very well.

Haha, no. I'm one of the few people that doesn't have any special ability. Just your average young adult human.

Though I do sometimes wish I could. There was one time when everyone was granted super powers! I had telekinesis. It was temporary, though, which was probably for the best. [he kind of. destroyed a lot of things on accident.]
