I've been meaning to post about this for oh, 2-3 weeks now, but I'm dancing at an event on Saturday evening, and would love it if people could come by.

ebonlock and I (with another friend) have been working on a new double veil piece for months now, fiddling and changing bits right up to the last moment, and we're finally showing it off (and it's really ( Read more... )

*laughs* Yeah, there's going to be five of us from our group dancing. I'm trying to talk more people into it, but most people don't feel ready yet. Which is silly - everyone's doing so well!

Anyway, I'm really excited, and I'll definitely see you there. :D

Hey, my troupe is only three of us, and for a song half the length of yours, so don't sweat group size. Alyne's been so excited about the group, it'll be fun to see. See you tomorrow!

That reminds me -- do you want me to try to take still photos, too (in addition to the video)? I just got a new camera, and it's supposed to be good at indoor photos but I haven't tried it yet. Obviously I'd turn off the flash so you wouldn't be blinded. I'll just bring my camera with me and we can see what we get.

And how early should I show up to make sure I get a good spot for the tripod for the video camera? Is 6:30 too early? Let me know.

I'm so excited to see you dance...and to see your no-longer-too-long skirt! ;)

Ooh, yes, please, we'd love stills! I never get to see how I look doing this piece, because of our placement and the size of the mirror where we practice, and am looking forward to every glimpse I can get.

As for early, I don't know! We'll probably be there by 6:30 or so (we're getting together to do makeup and get dressed hours earlier), if you want to get there then, and it'll be casual enough that I'll probably just hang out with you for the first couple of acts, before going to whatever counts as backstage.

You'll laugh at how much more full the skirt is compared to the others', because of how it was originally made. I keep feeling like I'm flashing the audience or something, when we spin, because it bells out so wide, although it doesn't go above my calves.

I'll plan to be there around 6:30 then. Is there a dress code -- should I be dressing up?

And I'm sorry your skirt is so full -- stupid manufacturers. I hope it doesn't look TOO weird. But at least it looks better than it did!

Nope, no dress code, this is totally casual, anything you wanna wear. I have no idea what kind of crowd there's even going to be, as this hasn't been advertised around a whole lot, so whatever you wear will be fine.

I actually kind of love my skirt being so full, it's just different from what the others have--I hadn't realized how much so until seeing a practice video we taped! And it's not like our cholis aren't all different, too, so I'm still thoroughly delighted, and absolutely amazed at how well you made it fit me. So. Much. <3. again for your help.
