Ick, I just read the critique on L&O UK and it justifies why we only made it through ONE episode. I'm a L&O fan but I just didn't like the characters and I was disappointed in Freema's. I thought this would be a good opportunity for her but she was just support cast.

I like L&O pretty well. Most of the CSIs get a bit unrealistic in terms of the technology available (CSI: NY, I'm looking at YOU!), but L&O is rarely about the technology, and more about the head games side of things... both in court and out of it.

If you want to give any of 'em a try, I suggest L&O: SVU, which has some of the best characters on TV, and certainly has the best female character on TV.

Clearly, I can't tell the difference between L&O and CSI! L&O: SVU is really not for me; I avoid stories about rape. I mostly avoid crime shows in general, unless they're comedies. Monk and Psych rarely make me care about the victims, which I'm all too ready to do in the first place.
