Unbanning Hugs

In response to the article I linked last night, I've just sent this message to the Free Hugs Campaign:

I am so glad kids are hugging! Kids at my school did not hug unless they were dating. They got pregnant and got in fights instead.

Yes, that is unfortunately common. I think people should look at hugging for what it is, rather than being paranoid and ruining life for everyone based on the fear of what so few might do.

It makes me wonder where such people are coming from. The folks who can look at curved and straight lines (much like those Rorschach images/blots) and say "OMG! That's a picture of two young kids having sex! We have to STOP this!" Or saying that hugging leads to other negative things. Are these people for real? Or are they simply trying to shove their own paranoia down the rest of the world's throats. Maybe they're the same folks who believe that babies come out from under cabbage leaves...

Your hugging idea is awesome, sweetie. I'm a hugger anyway, so it's no problem for me to see someone who looks a little down and give them a hug.
