Schools are banning hugs, the viewing of line drawings is considered a sexual offense, and I despise the imbeciles of the obsolete generation just a little bit more today.

Did you read the New York Times article? These are people who were shocked and disturbed to hear that people were hugging each other even if they didn't know each other that well. That's a far deeper issue than simply meddling; that's a kind of schizotypal paranoia.
::shivers:: Oh man... And these so-called decision makers are how old? I adore hugs! I like both giving and getting them! How does that make me a person of questionable morals? Does the fact that I have several roflmao moments reading manga make me someone who should be locked up or have a GPS signaler implanted into me to make sure I stay away from anyone under 20 and bookstores?
There have been studies on the health benefits of hugging, not to mention the social benefits. It disturbs me that people would see a good thing and perceive it as bad so readily. It's so upsetting.
