Indeed there really was very little twisting of arms required to get Cecil into any sort of inn, tavern or pub; The strange happenings around this land couldn't distract the paladin from his (almost) favourite pasttime and really, he did want to talk things through with Edge. The... proposition from the ninja king had definitely been unexpected and certainly odd- but it was from last week. everyone had acted slightly strange the last week, including himself

“Has anyone ever told you that you’re a lush.” Edge grinned a bit, really he just couldn’t hold his liquor and one of them needed to be able to get them both home for the evening. It would be rather embarrassing to pass out in the middle of a street or on the grass.
“So you know, that whole proposition… I mean I’d go through with it if I weren’t all committed or something.” His relationship status was complicated, it always seemed like it was up and down. And honestly it was Cecil, he’d hit it. In another place and another time when they both weren’t in odd relationships. Bwahaha.
“The whole war thing, that’d never happen unless you like spit on me or something. Well, then again… that won’t happen either..” He finished his glass and waved for another one. If Cecil wanted to keep drinking, he’d just have to keep up, it was almost like a challenge.
A lush? At that Cecil raised an eyebrow and laughed, picking his glass from the counter and placing it foreward to allow it to be refilled. The ale at this place was strange, nothing like Baron's. Not as potent, definitely not as potent. But it wasn't bad. "That..." he didn't know about Zalbag's relationship with Edge (he'd always thought the ninja more of a ladies man, despite his apparent shortcomings with Rydia.) but he'd heard the name mentioned. It was when the odd shadow-occurrence happened, shortly before he'd had seven shades beaten out of him by the aforementioned dragoon's shadow. The Zalbag fellow that Edge was keen to find. Yet he didn't make the connection, not from a simple mention

Edge knew that Cecil was whipped, but he still liked to tease. It was fun and rather amusing to him in the long run. Though, it wasn’t as funny as the hair dye in Kain’s shampoo, that had been brilliant. “The throne… sucks.” Because, it really did. Edge didn’t like having everyone bowing and waiting for him to make all the decision. That was part of the reason he was glad to be ‘going to school
