Indeed, Shiki's situation was entirely unpleasant: being taken to a strange place against her will, with few friends to keep her company and no answers to her questions... none that made sense, anyway. Luckily the people she had spoken to on the network had been friendly and helpful, if a little odd.

Cecil Harvey had been one of those peculiar people. He sounded like a knight straight out of a fairy tale, swearing to keep her safe... but, however strange it all was, she found that she could not turn down his offer. She didn't know her way around this place yet, and she couldn't be certain of how safe it was, out there.

So, when the receptionist phoned her room, she wasted no time in gathering her possessions (few though they were: all she had with her was her sewing bag and Mr. Mew), and headed straight to the lobby.

There was only one person waiting there, and he definitely looked like a knight. Shiki blinked at him for a few moments, almost awed, before waving her hand at him in greeting. "Cecil?"

Cecil in turn found his gaze snatched by the stuffed animal following the girl. Funny really, since it reminded him almost exactly of a time long ago where he and his comrades had fought against the dwarven princess Luca's dolls, animated by Golbez and twisted into Calcobrena. But that... he felt no aura of evil from Mr. Mew thankfully. But he couldn't help but stare slightly before averting his eyes; making such a big deal out of it was very rude and men of Baron had been raised otherwise ( ... )
