Interviews from the inside

I thought for a while about posting this over at the wordpress blog, but I don't want to have to censor my sorrows or my excitement.

Hey, this is Francesca, I just got an LJ and thought I'd friend you!

By the way, I think if there is anyone who can revive a church, it would be you. Yours are some of the best sermons I've ever heard, anyway. :)

Hi Francesca! (Now Alicia is the only one missing) Welcome and great to have you here! Did you find the rest of the fam?

Thanks for the compliment-- I know that's honest feedback, so it means a lot. Enjoy Oxford, you lucky thing! Make sure you have lunch in the Harry Potter Great Hall at some point!

I think I've got everyone... Sarah, Stephen, Toni, Trevin...

I've actually passed Christ Church several times, and I know the Great Hall is in there... but unfortunately you have to pay to get in, and I haven't gotten a chance to go. I don't think they even let you take pictures though, which is a shame. At least I can say I've been in the same city as (part of) Hogwarts though!

I leave for 10 days, and look what happens! Congratulations. It sounds so exciting (almost exciting enough to convince me to go back into pastoral work in the church!). Have I told you that I still haven't been to Vermont? It's my only New England state that I missed.

And, I have to say that there are good things about the way that the Methodist system works. There have to be some incredible things about not being at the mercy of a cranky congregation ...
