The importance of self care

As of the conclusion of yesterday's church service, (and its sermon, "God's Team"), I am on vacation for one week. So far, I've had to resist 1. getting involved in the church's desperate efforts to put together a Memorial Day float, 2. overseeing the construction of the church memorial garden, the design of which has been changed a bit last minute

i am omgthisexcited about seeing you soon. and i'd love to actually be able to give you a shoulder rub you can, you know, actually feel. as opposed to smashing on your deadened shoulders, madam keepstheworlsstressinhertraps. ;)

hope the sun shines. i find that's my favorite (and most rejuvenating) part of a week off for me. turns out we're just like plants, really. we need the sun! :)

(did you know you're supposed to get 20 minutes of direct sun to your body - not just face and hands, haha - every day without sunscreen to get adequate vitamin d? so go soak it up, baby, and enjoy! and yay, lynning! that's right, it's word. i said so.)
