Let's see if this one embeds better than earlier theology quizzes I took. It certainly was more accurate, although there still is not option for agree/disagree with "God is male."
heh! I think it's the total depravity that gets me every time. I just can't bring myself to check anything that has 'depraved' in the sentence. I'm surprised in fact that I don't come up Universalist for that reason (maybe that's just not an option). Alas, it's true; I am in fact more liberal than I am Methodist.
I'd say come on over to the dark side, but, er, my denomination has its head up its hind end. We're working on it.
Yeah, I know, and I didn't even answer that question to affirm total depravity.
My Dad's family all grew up nominally Methodist-- Grandma & Grandpa dropped them off at church and then went back home for some weekly time to themselves. I am convinced that most of their kids were conceived on Sunday morning. :)
Hey! Happy Birthday (a day late)! Curious - have you read the book unChrisitan? I have a dream of handing it to every clergy member of the Conference where I'm at. Just wondering if you'd read it and/or having any thoughts concerning it.
No big surprises hereotterdanceMay 12 2008, 18:20:23 UTC
I had to fudge a few, and heaken back to my upbringing, but here I am. Most pleased about the 0% Fundie. ;-)
You scored as a Classical Liberal You are a classical liberal. You are sceptical about much of the historicity of the Bible, and the most important thing Jesus has done is to set us a good moral example that we are to follow. Doctrines like the trinity and the incarnation are speculative and not really important, and in the face of science and philosophy the surest way we can be certain about God is by our inner awareness of him. Discipleship is expressed by good moral behaviour, but inward religious feeling is most important. Classical Liberal 79% Emergent/Postmodern 79% Modern Liberal 61% Roman Catholic 43% Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan 39% Neo orthodox 29% Charismatic/Pentecostal 11% Reformed Evangelical 7% Fundamentalist

I haven't read it, but it's at the top of my amazon wish list. I'll be sure to review and post it when I get back to my poor abandoned reading list.
